On the evening of Wednesday 16th of June 2015, Micklefield Hall received a grand award. The Great Barn at Micklefield Hall was the overall winner for Restoration at the Chilterns Buildings Design Awards last night. Can you believe it?! I can’t believe we haven’t bragged about this enough!

It is a huge honour and privilege for all of us at Micklefield Hall to receive such a prestigious award, especially as it took Anna and Jamie, the owners of Micklefield, seven years to get planning permission on the tithe barn . But finally, the Barn is finished and open for business. It has been one of our busiest season’s this summer and it looks like next year will be even busier thanks to the Restoration of the Great Barn.
The Chilterns Buildings Design Awards have said that it is a “spectacular example of sensitive adaptation to a new use that brings together immensely clever building technology sandwiched between traditional surfaces. Modern Building technology has been sandwiched between traditional surfaces so the beauty of Tudor craftsmanship is undimmed.”
The Watford Observer also wrote an article about our award, Check it out!
