Micro Wedding Package
For our Micro Wedding package, the ceremony and intimate reception will be held in our outdoor, heated garden room, over looking the courtyard and French fountain. Your closest friends and family can celebrate with you, whilst still being able to abide by distancing rules and where masks aren’t compulsory. Our packages include the use of our bridal suite and groom’s room, garden room and The Great Barn.
With our intimate garden room lovingly dressed for your ceremony, your guests are seated by the fire as you tie the knot at the head table. As the garden room is an outdoor room, masks are not mandatory and with our extra heaters and blankets, your guests will enjoy your wedding, whatever the weather!
Seated amongst your guests, but still adhering to social distancing, dine as a newly married couple, mask free. In front of an open fire and surrounded by candles and floral arrangements, this romantic space will make your micro wedding as filled with love and romance as any large wedding.
We have teamed up with our culinary masters, Kalm Kitchen, to bring you a bespoke wedding breakfast menu. Our Micklefield Hall Micro Wedding package includes our venue for the whole day, a drinks reception with canapes, a three course wedding breakfast, an unlimited drinks package till the end of your meal and a fully staffed bar for afterwards.

What is a Micro Wedding?
Traditionally, a micro wedding has under 20 guests. With the current coronavirus government restrictions on weddings, Micklefield Hall have decided to offer engaged couples this special, intimate wedding alternative.
Couples are tired of postponing, delaying and changing their weddings because of the current pandemic. This micro wedding package offers determined couples the option to go ahead with a wedding smaller in size but still as elegant, special and full of love as any size wedding!
What is a Drive In Wedding?
A drive in wedding is where you have your wedding ceremony as per usual, with 30 guests in attendance, but with the bonus of being able to have extra guests, watching your ceremony on a giant outdoor screen!
Think drive in movie, but you are the star of the show! This allows couples to adhere to current COVID tier restrictions but allows them to invite around 100 more guests to watch the ceremony from their cars.
The new tier restrictions, announced by the Government, and coming into effect on 3rd December, are going to be around for a while! This drive in option allows couples to have as many guests as they possibly can to ‘attend’ their wedding, whilst still keeping everyone safe!
Does a Micro Wedding adhere to COVID19 restrictions?
Limited to 30 guests, our micro weddings adhere to Government guidelines.
Other guidelines we are adhering to are
~Track and trace data collected and we have a QR code for our venue that you can scan using the NHS COVID19 app when you arrive
~Hand sanitiser available across our site
~Deep cleans before and after hire
~One way systems in place
~Face coverings in use by all staff and caterers
~Outdoor ceremony and breakfast to minimise risk of spreading COVID19
~Dancing will only be allowed for the first dance of the bride and groom
Does a Drive In Wedding adhere to COVID 19 restrictions?
As per restrictions, guest numbers to actually attend the ceremony in the barn are limited to 30.
However, as long as guests remain in their cars in our grounds, up to 45 cars can attend the wedding, to watch it on a big screen.
You can even feed your ‘drive in guests’ with cute picnic boxes from Kalm Kitchen, who will post these boxes through the car windows!
Do we have to wear masks during our Micro Wedding?
As our ceremony and dining space is classed as an outdoor space, guests are not required by law to wear face coverings and this type of space is low risk when it comes to the spread of coronavirus.
Our staff and caterers will be wearing face coverings to keep everyone safe, but it is up to you if you wish to wear one!
Do guests have to wear masks during the Drive In ceremony?
Our drive in wedding ceremony can take place inside The Great Barn or the Garden Room(allowing the camera crew space to live stream your ceremony).
All seating arrangements for the ceremony are suitably spaced and all suppliers and Micklefield Hall staff will be wearing masks to keep everyone safe.
How long will my Drive In guests be onsite for?
We normally recommend 2 hours for your Drive In guests, as any more time than that is a bit too long to be sat in a car!
Two hours is plenty long enough to watch your beautiful ceremony on the big screen and perhaps enjoy one of Kalm Kitchen’s picnic boxes.
With the Micro Wedding ceremony and breakfast outside in the Garden Room, won’t my guests get cold?
With our lit fire, blankets and large pyramid patio heaters, your guests will be warm and comfortable in our Garden Room.
What if it is raining on the day? Can the Drive In Wedding still go ahead?
Absolutely! The large, outdoor screen is waterproof and with the marque, all the tech equipment stays safe and dry.
As our ‘drive in’ area for cars is hard standing, wet weather won’t halt proceedings!
The only adverse weather conditions that may scupper plans are gale force winds which may make the large outdoor screen not such a good idea. Extreme Production Group and Micklefield Hall will work with you to find a solution if this is the case.
How do my Drive In guests hear my ceremony whilst sat in their cars?
Extreme Production Group are absolute experts at producing these sorts of events. Your Drive In guests will be informed of the radio frequency to tune in to. Once tuned in, the sound from your ceremony will come straight through the radio and speakers of their car!
