On an incredibly sunny day in August 2025, we welcomed George, Richard and their nearest and dearest to Micklefield Hall to celebrate their wedding. We are honoured to have so many amazing couples through our doors and George and Richard were no different. They brought a day of fun, laughter and romance.
The weather was glorious from start to finish, gifting them with a beautiful temple ceremony, lawn drinks reception and evening light you could only dream of. Their photographs turned out perfectly, thanks to Emily and Steve Photography.
The morning of
They began their day together, which whilst a non-traditional start, was just perfect. It meant a morning of giggles, love letters and of course champagne, surrounded by both of their closest friends and mums.
Ceremony of dreams
George and Richard chose to have their ceremony at the Temple. Walking down the aisle together, joined by their proud Mums, they made their way to their guests. The congregation was filled with emotion, beaming smiles and teary eyes.
Family members read out heartfelt poems before the Hertfordshire Registrars officially announced them as newlyweds.
Drinks in the sunshine
This is where the fun really started. A chaotic, yet perfect confetti toss followed by drinks on the Great Lawn. The guests enjoyed the sunshine with a glass of fizz whilst George and Richard were whisked off for some private photographs around the grounds.
The team at Kalm Kitchen ensured that the guests were watered (with Champagne!) and fed with delicious hand selected canapes.
Into the evening
Both coming from creative backgrounds, George and Richard used their talents to the maximum when it came to dressing the barn for their wedding breakfast. Opting for ‘chic rainforest’, Andrew Fleming helped create their dream set up. The couple chose to do a sneaky first look once the barn was ready, their reaction was priceless, seeing everything they had spent the last year planning come to life in front of their eyes.
They chose to upgrade their napkins, glassware and charger plates with Kalm Kitchen, adding to the beauty of the barn and bringing all of the details together. Each place setting perfectly laid, ready for the guests to enter.
Once the wedding breakfast was complete, the couple made the most of the evening sunlight, venturing out for more pictures.
