Autumn Wedding

Autumn is one of our favourite times of year to hold weddings here at Micklefield Hall. The Autumnal light giving a ‘golden hour’ for the entirety of the day. Warm colours and beautiful flowers filled The Great Barn for Hayley and Jono’s October wedding. Here are some of the highlights of the day, captured by the amazing Sarah Legge Photography.

The details

Hayley and Jono’s wedding was an Autumnal colour dream, with browns and burnt oranges through to fresh greenery and pinks. Chorleywood based florist Andrew Flemming, transformed The Great Barn with an eye catching hexagon shaped archway which framed the romantic ceremony perfectly. Dahlias, roses and orchids created the most dreamy bouquets and autumnal floral arrangements.

Hayley was a creative genius, creating all of her wedding stationary on the amazing editing tool Canva. It is a great way to add a little bit of ‘DIY’ to your day.

Micklefield Hall has over 200 Chivari style chairs, which Hayley and Jono decided to dress using fabric from Shein. A great way to dress up your ceremony chairs in a low cost way!

The outfits

Dressed in stunning neutral tones, Hayley and Jono’s wedding party complemented their chosen colour scheme perfectly.

The Bridesmaids wore stunning, identical, terracotta colour dresses which brushed the floor as they walked down the aisle. The dresses matched their beautiful bouquets perfectly, accentuating the colour theme. These gorgeous dresses were from online retailer Duntery.

The boys rocked matching navy blue suits from Moss Bros, complemented with a blush toned silk tie.

Hayley wore a gorgeous, long-sleeved, elegant dress, with a stunning v-shaped neckline. The lace sleeves were essential in the Autumn weather and complemented the lace bodice perfectly. Hayley wore a stunning floor length veil for her ceremony, that followed her closely as she walked down the aisle to meet her now HUSBAND. Hayley chose to switch up her veil for a shorter version as she entered into the party! Hayley’s dress was from WED2B.

The wedding (cheese) cake

We needed a moment and a dedicated space in this blog for Hayley and Jono’s wedding cake… the cake of dreams. The couple decided against having a traditional tiered wedding cake and chose to display a tower of different cheesecakes, all from The English Cheesecake Company. The flavours included Lotus Biscoff, salted caramel brownie and white chocolate raspberry blondie.

Our wonderful team of Event Assistants who work tirelessly ensuring the venue looks its best and the drinks are served with a smile, were thrilled to have Hayley and Jono insist they join in the cheesecake fun!

The sunset

The sunset at Micklefield Hall is one of the best in the world (not proven but very likely, in our biased opinion!)

Rolling fields and the most amazing views surround our Great Barn. On a clear day you can see as far as the arches of Wembley Stadium, meaning that when the weather is ‘just right’ the sunset really is the star of the show.

Hayley and Jono had the perfect sunset on their wedding day making for the most sensational picture opportunity! Our Event Managers and photographer Sarah are on constant picture opportunity duty, seeking out the perfect light and shot.
