Emily and Mitch got married on a sunny day in July 2023. The day was filled with love and light from the moment that they both arrived on site to get ready. Giggles from the bridal suite as glam started and presents were opened. Then roars of laughter from the groom’s room as the boys had breakfast with a side of whiskey and beers.
The buzz around Micklefield Hall was loud, as we prepped the various spaces ready for their guests. Kalm Kitchen and Andrew Fleming filled the barn with beautiful tables, dressed with golden candelabras and purple florals.
The team at Indiego Photography captured the sheer amount of love and joy that flowed through the wedding perfectly.
The morning of the wedding
Both the bridal party and the groom’s party got ready on site in the bridal suite and groom’s room.
The girls arrived nice and early to start their prep alongside the team from Spence and Oliver. They enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast (alongside a glass of fizz!) as they got ready for the big moment.
The boys arrived slightly later and enjoyed breakfast accompanied by a glass (or two!) of whiskey to ease the nerves.
Both parties were buzzing, a real insight into what an amazing day the rest of this special day was going to be like.
The ceremony
Emily and Mitch chose to have their civil ceremony at the Temple. A beautiful, one of a kind, serene setting which has you surrounded by nature, including a stunning 350 year old oak tree.
Emily’s bridesmaids led the way, before Emily and her doting Dad followed towards Mitch who was waiting (rather emotionally!) in the Temple with his best man.
Mitch struggled to hide his emotions as his bride got closer and their guests looked on at them, excited to watch them share their vows.
After a very romantic ceremony which included several personal readings, the couple shared their first kiss as Mr and Mrs before heading back up the aisle to wait for their confetti moment.
Drinks reception
Confetti rained down on the newlyweds as they headed to the lawns for their drinks reception. Kalm Kitchen served a selection of refreshing drinks including the crowd favourite Pimm’s.
The guests enjoyed the sunshine, whilst the couple spent some time taking some portraits with their bridal parties at the front of the house. We were excited to see this choice of location for the group shots as it is one we don’t see too often, the white porch framed the groups perfectly and complimented the stunning white bridesmaids dresses and black groomsmen suits.
The evening
Then it was onto the evening. The barn beautifully dressed by Andrew Fleming and Kalm Kitchen. Channeling the popular TV series Bridgerton with the iconic golden candelabras, cutlery and beautiful lilac florals (very Daphne Basset!).
The guests were welcomed into the Great Barn by Alex Rimmel, talented Saxophone player who got all of the guests up dancing ready for the Bride and Groom’s big entrance.
Once everyone was settled, they enjoyed a selection of speeches before a delicious three course meal by Kalm Kitchen.
A beautiful cake by Croxley Cakes took center stage on the dancefloor for guests to drool over before the couple cut it prior to their first dance. Then the party was officially started! The Ideal kept the dancefloor busy all night before Kalm Kitchen brought out evening snacks to keep the guests going into the evening.
