We welcomed a lovely corporate client to Micklefield Hall in the Summer of 2024, hosting an outstanding away day for their extended team. This was a huge day for both Micklefield Hall and the company. It brought together many of their extended departments who operate all over the UK. This meant it was essential to encourage team building and internal networking.
The day involved a large number of activities including various drinks stations, food stations, archery and duck herding… yep you read that right!
First up, drinks!
Keeping Hydrated
It was an incredibly hot June day which meant it was essential everyone was kept hydrated. As the guests arrived, they were welcomed with a refreshing glass of Pimms and a variety of different soft drinks. These were all served by the Micklefield Hall bar team from our independent, mobile bars.
Then the groups went on to enjoy some activities (more on this later). The Micklefield Hall Team travelled around the estate on an electric golf buggy, serving tea, coffee and cold refreshments. This went down a treat with the guests, meaning they did not have to leave their activities to hydrate!
Once the activities were complete, the groups embarked on our new rose garden. This is where they enjoyed a bespoke gin bar and a glass of Micklefield Hall’s own label English Sparkling Wine whilst having a boogie to a good old jazz band and playing with the garden games.
As the evening drew in, dinner time came around. Where they enjoyed hand selected wines which had been carefully paired with their delicious dinner by Kalm Kitchen.
Finally, it was time for sundowners. Delicious espresso martinis, Moet Chandon Garden Spritz and a selection of whiskey houses were enjoyed by the open fire, before departing.
The feedback on the drinks and bars provided throughout the day was outstanding. The variety of drinks offered, whilst ensuring little to no effort by the client was greatly appreciated.
Keeping Entertained
The aim of the day was to unite groups of employees who perhaps chat to each other over the phone or via videocall but do not directly work with one another. To get everyone chatting and enjoying themselves, they took part in a number of different activities. Organised by GOTO Events, these included archery, garden games, live music, laser shooting and duck herding. Any guesses which was the favourite?!
Keeping Fed
Now onto the tasty part of the day…the food!
As the group were at Micklefield Hall from midday lunch, canapes and dinner were provided by our partner caterers Kalm Kitchen. This included a huge grazing board and taco station as the guests arrived. Followed by snacks and baked goods during the activities. Then canapes during the rose garden drinks reception and finally a DELICIOUS 3-course dinner and bespoke patisserie desert bar.
It is safe to say the food went down a treat (pun intended!). The guests thoroughly enjoyed the various different options available.
The formal sit down dinner in the Great Barn was lovely too. It gave everyone an opportunity to relax after a busy afternoon. Whilst they continued in their conversations and enjoy a brief speech by the heads of the company.
