September weddings always hold a special kind of magic here at Micklefield Hall. Emily and Dan’s beautiful day was no exception. Even when the unmistakable charm of early autumn welcomed a steady fall of rain. From the moment Emily and Dan arrived, it was clear their wedding day would be a bright occasion, one full of laughter and love
The Preparations
The morning of the wedding was calm and jolly, with Emily getting ready in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids and Dan getting suited in the groom’s room. The couple chose pops of pinks, yellows and blues as their wedding colour palette, which their bridal parties matched with perfectly.
Hot pink bridesmaids dresses which were complimented perfectly by the groomsmen’s pink floral ties and pocket squares.
The Ceremony
Emily and Dan had dreamt of an outside wedding at the temple, but being in the UK means we are always at risk of a rainy day and this day was no different. Despite the bright skies (helped by the wonderful colours of the wedding!) the rain came down.
The couple opted to have their ceremony in our Orangery, our very new building at the time, and became the first couple to have their civil ceremony here.
The ceremony was perfect, the rain splashed on the windows as the sun fought through the clouds, keeping the room light and airy.
After The Ceremony
Once the ceremony was done and the newlyweds celebrated with their closest friends and family, the sun made an appearance. It was perfect timing for a beautiful confetti shot and couple photos around the grounds.
The bubbly energy that we first experienced with Emily and Dan was clear in their bridal parties too, as they embarked on some super fun group shots with coloured smoke flares and lots of running around. The photographs (by Katrina Matthews) turned out brilliantly!
The Evening Reception
The brightness didn’t stop at the ceremony, the incredible flowers, by Andrew Fleming, were brought into the barn for the wedding breakfast too. Sunflowers took centre stage as the guests made their way into the Great Barn for dinner.
If the incredible three-course meal from our partner caterers Kalm Kitchen wasn’t enough, the guests were treated to late night snacks by The Pizza Post before waving goodbye to the newly weds via a sparkler exit.
Amazing Feedback
Since the wedding, Emily and Dan have been in touch with some very kind words about their day.
“The whole day was brilliant from start to finish, everything from the venue, staff, suppliers, grounds, where amazing, it’s truly a very special place that we will remember forever”
We wish you both all the best for the future, thank you for choosing Micklefield Hall for your special day.
Well Wishes
