In this blog, we are showcasing a garden room wedding ceremony. The garden room is one of our three licenced ceremony areas at Micklefield Hall. Our other areas include the Temple and The Great Barn which hold up to 200 guests, but the garden room is a beautiful option if your ceremony has fewer guests.
In glorious weather, up to 80 guests can be seated on the terrace, under the blossom trees and by the French fountain. For smaller ceremonies, up to 30 guests are seated within the garden room, next to the open fire place. With fewer numbers, the aisle can be formed by the seating arrangement, or the bride can enter from the terrace area, allowing more space for extra seating.
This ceremony space is proving very popular with brides and grooms during the current COVID-19 restrictions. As this space is an outdoor ceremony area, guests aren’t required to wear face masks during the proceedings and our garden room comfortably seats up to 30 guests, with social distancing measures in place.
The beams, seating and mantle piece above the fire can be adorned with flower garlands by your florist and candles can romantically light this space. Our outdoor PA system can be used however this space is so cosy that sound amplification isn’t really required.
Drinks receptions after the ceremony can take place on the terrace, the lawns, the marque or the Great Barn’s patio. A variety of spaces to allow your guests to raise a glass to your marriage, whatever the weather.
The rest of the grounds are always yours to use after your ceremony as we are an exclusive wedding venue. Guests can stroll around the manicured gardens, your photographer can capture the most romantic shots, utilising our rose gardens and various garden structures. You can hire in lawn games for guests to enjoy on our rolling lawns, with views as far as Wembley on a really clear day.
Enjoy your wedding breakfast and reception in The Great Barn, with our dance floor and smart sound system ready to get the party started. Our bar area is ready to serve your guests their evening drinks and we have several drinks packages on offer.
