At Micklefield Hall, we’re lucky enough to witness many love stories unfold. Held in the soft light of May, Lulu & Hunter’s celebration was a beautiful fusion of English elegance and American charm, wrapped in joy, laughter, and just a touch of mischief. Captured by the talented (and gorgeous) Sarah Legge Photography, memories of the day continue to live on.
The venue was decorated perfectly by recommended florist Andrew Fleming. Flowers framing the Temple and dressing the wedding breakfast tables.
Lulu and Hunter opted for a slightly different ceremony style. Having already been legally married a few years ago, this left them with the flexibility of having a celebrant led ceremony. The phrase ‘it’s not what you know, it’s who you know’ came in incredibly handy in this case, with Lulu’s lovely aunt being a professional Celebrant. ‘Aunty Linda’ led a beautiful ceremony, personalised to the couple, referencing special moments in their time together as a couple and inviting close family members to speak.
Once this bespoke and personal ceremony drew to an end, the guests lined up for the classic confetti shot. This was swiftly followed by a drinks reception on the Great Lawns at Micklefield Hall. Drinks served by the wonderful Kalm Kitchen and canapes carefully hand created by their talented chefs.
One of our well-known and highly recommended show bands, XS Showband, serenaded Lulu and Hunter’s guests all day and into the evening. Including an impromptu (for the guests) but choreographed (for the couple) opening set as Lulu and Hunter made their way into the Great Barn for their wedding breakfast.
Dinner was served, a delicious three-course meal which even included serve at the table Pavolva. Funnily enough, without realising, this pudding choice was an English staple with many of the American guests having their first Pavlova experience… Judging from their reactions and feedback, I don’t think it will be their last!
Finally, into the evening we went. The guests continued their epic dancing and the couple took a slow walk around the grounds at Micklefield Hall, soaking in the excitement of their day. Whilst we know we are biased, the sunsets at Micklefield Hall are something else, leaving us with that perfect golden light.
As Lulu, Hunter and family have now headed back to their overseas homes, we are still looking back on what a wonderful day that was had. Brilliant suppliers, lovely guests and of course the most gorgeous couple. Their little additions of their personalities, their interests as a couple and their overall priority; their family, just made the day sensational.
We wish Lulu and Hunter all of the happiness in the world and hope that they come back to visit us when they pop back over!
