In November we welcomed the family and friends of Luke and Shivani to celebrate their wedding day, here at Micklefield Hall. Opting for a traditional Indian wedding with a beautiful Mandap in our Great Barn followed by delicious food by Ragasaan, it was the perfect day.
The Preparations
Luke and Shivani both got ready for their wedding day on site in our ‘bridal suite’ and ‘groom’s room’. Making the most of the spaces, Shivani’s bridal prep team glammed her up, from top to toe, whilst Luke was joined by some of his family to start his own preparations.
The couple chose traditional colours for their bridal outfits, a striking red and gold.
Couple Shots
The couple decided to start their day a little differently to tradition, to ease the nerves, make the most of the beautiful November light and just to enjoy more of the day together, they enjoyed a ‘first look’ in the courtyards before their guests arrived. This perfectly intimate moment underneath auburn leaves meant they could enjoy a short time together before the celebrations truly started.
Recommended and truly talented photographer Lily Lane, took the couple around the grounds to enjoy the crisp Autumnal morning they were blessed with, capturing plenty of relaxed and happy shots.
The Ceremony
Once the couple had been separated once again, the traditions continued. As the guests piled into the Great Barn, they were greeted with the most beautiful Mandap by Sai Mandaps.
The stunning gold frame stood proud, decorated with beautiful greenery, burnt oranges and red. As the ceremony started, Luke made his way up to the Mandap alongside traditional Dhol drummers, before the bride, Shivani, made her entrance to a beautiful pre-recorded piece of music.
The Reception
Once the Mandap ceremony was complete, the guests headed to the Orangery for the drinks reception. This is where Ragasaan treated them to delicious canapes and mocktails, whilst musicians ‘Bouzoki’ entertained the guests with their talent.
The Ragasaan and Micklefield Hall teams were then hard at work, alongside florist Andrew Fleming, to transform the Great Barn from the traditional ceremony to stunning, stylist evening reception and wedding breakfast space. Of course, this was completed in no time at all. The round tables were brought out and dressed beautiful tall florals, complimenting the greenery, burnt oranges and reds from the ceremony previously.
Their elegant cake by The Mad Batter welcomed the guests into the room. Our team were greeted with lots of ‘ooos’ and ‘ahhs’ as the guests were truly mesmerised by the beauty of the Great Barn.
Once the guests were seated, they enjoyed yet even more delicious food and drinks from Ragasaan, before ending the night with a boogie on the dancefloor.
Overall, the day was a huge success, with a very happy couple at the end of it. We are so pleased that Luke and Shivani chose to celebrate their special day with us, here at Micklefield Hall. We want to share a huge thanks to all of the suppliers who helped make the day possible.
A special thanks to Lily Lane for these wonderful photographs which capture the day perfectly. Showing the love and warmth that surrounded each element of the incredibly well thought out and put together day.
