In July 2023, Rhia and Mike celebrated their wedding day with their family and friends at Micklefield Hall. This gorgeous couple had always dreamt of their wedding being outside, at our beautiful temple, however, the Great British weather had other ideas. This didn’t put a dampener (pun intended!) on their day. The sun showed its face ready for the couple to be showered in confetti (and again!) and in time for drinks on the lawn.
Saying ‘I do’
The Micklefield Hall Great barn is the perfect backdrop to your wedding ceremony. The 16th Century beams and super high ceilings mean you don’t need to add much (if any!) decor to create your dream space. Rhia and Mike were joined by 120 of their closest friends and family to celebrate their marriage. The aisle was lined with gorgeous flowers from our recommended florist Andrew Fleming (sneakily utilising the table center pieces, to provide a more sustainable and cost effective way of decorating for their ceremony).
Rhia was supported by her father as she walked down the aisle to Mike, her now husband. Their faces did no job of hiding their emotions as they met for the last time before becoming Husband and Wife.
A moment for the flowers
The flowers deserve their own moment…Sunflowers are always a very bold and beautiful choice of flower for your wedding bouquet. They are such a Summery choice of flower and are complimented so well by so many other florals. Rhia and Mike chose Sunflowers as their key flower, highlighting Summer and colour. This choice was perfect, and despite the rain outside, really brought the Summer into The Great Barn.
Andrew Fleming created beautiful bouquets and table center pieces using Sunflowers, complimented by Gerberas, Gypsophila, Craspedia and Matakana Daisy.
The outfits
The flowers weren’t the only way Rhia and Mike brought colour to their wedding day, but also through their bridal party’s outfits.
Rhia looked perfect in her elegant strapless dress from Pronovias, a beautiful London bridal boutique. The dress had a beautiful heart shaped neckline with a laced bodice. This was complimented perfectly by the ethereal skirt that trailed along after Rhia as she enjoyed her day. The dress then had straps which Rhia added as she boogied the night away!
The bridesmaids were the pop of colour which just brought the whole look of the Summer wedding together. Rhia’s 6 bridesmaids wore gorgeous identical Meshki dresses with a cowl neckline and thin shoulder straps.
Now to the groom and his groomsmen…Mike wore a stylish pale grey, 3 piece suit from Suit Supply. His suit was complimented nicely by a white floral corsage by Andrew Fleming.
Mike’s groomsmen looked incredibly handsome in their ‘Abito Spezzato’ (the Italian word for ‘mis-matched suit’), with their light blue jackets from M&S and their pale chinos from Suit Supply. The groomsmen’s look was finished off by a lovely lemon tie.
It is safe to say the entire bridal party looked amazing.
Cocktail O’clock
Rhia and Mike chose to add the Micklefield Hall cocktail bar to their evening bar and their guests loved it! They enjoyed Edmunds Espresso Martinis, Passionfruit Martinis and Mojitos.

Couple shots
The opportunity for your couple shots at Micklefield Hall is endless. From the beautiful historic temple to the rolling lawns with views for miles. Having exclusive use means you can wonder around with your photographer as much as you like to find the perfect spot during your day, as Rhia and Mike did.
Rhia and Mike made the most out of Micklefield Hall when it came to their couple shots and it truly paid off.
The Wedding Breakfast
The Great Barn was transformed from Rhia and Mike’s intimate and romantic civil ceremony into the perfect space for their wedding breakfast. The Summery colours continued through their floral centerpieces, complimented with upgraded water goblets, charger plates and napkins from our Partner caterers K.alm Kitchen.
The Micklefield Hall Team worked closely with Andrew Fleming and K.alm Kitchen to create the dreamiest wedding breakfast setting, and they did just that.
