Welcome to Micklefield Hall

Nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside, just 25 miles from London, Micklefield Hall is a stunning country venue. Steeped in history and surrounded by manicured gardens, and boasting an award winning, Grade II listed, 16th Century, tithe barn and romantic temple.

Here is a little sneak peak into your dream wedding venue…

The Driveway and House

As soon as you drive into Micklefield Hall the beauty starts, with views of the rolling hills and beautiful architecture. If you are super lucky you may even see the family of deer skip across the Great Lawns as you drive up to the house.

Anna and Jamie’s family home stands proud at the top of the driveway and has posed as the perfect backdrop for many of our couple’s photographs.

The sun sets over the driveway which also makes for the most incredible ‘golden hour’ shots after dinner is finished.

If you are eager to venture out to the woodlands, April and early May are the ideal time to capture the thousands and thousands of bluebells which create the perfect purple carpet.

The Terrace and Garden Room

When your guests enter Micklefield Hall from the car park they are welcomed by our beautiful cherry blossom courtyard, with traditional French Fountain, roaring fire and views of the outstanding Grade II listed Great Barn.

This is the perfect setting for welcome drinks or even your drinks reception after your ceremony.

Groom and Bridal Prep

Start your special day off in the right way, in our bridal suite and groom’s room.

Both spaces have room for all of your bridal party to get ready and enjoy a calm morning over breakfast and maybe a little bit of fizz!

The bridal suite is the perfect space to get your hair and makeup ready, with beautiful natural lighting, professional mirror stations and a full bathroom and kitchenette.

Many of our Jewish grooms choose to enjoy their Tisch in the groom’s room, so let your event manager know and we can ensure this is laid up correctly for all your closest friends and family.

The Temple

The Temple at Micklefield Hall is a totally unique piece of architecture. It was a gift from Mr Clutterbuck to his wife in the 1920s.

Many of our couples have chosen the temple as the setting for their ceremonies. This includes civil ceremonies, Chuppahs, Mandaps and celebrant led ceremonies.

Up to 200 of your family and friends can be seated in front of the temple, being sheltered by the grand oak tree which is over 300 years old.

The Rose Garden

Posing as the perfect photograph setting, our new rose garden stands tall adjacent to the aisle.

Only planted in April 2024, the roses already stand taller than 7ft in parts, blooming from May through until September.

We are excited to do our first ceremony in the rose garden this year too!

The Lawns

The rolling lawns at Micklefield Hall often receive a ‘wow’ when we show our couples round. With views of London and some of the 350 acre estate, the lawns are an eye catcher.

We have had many ceremonies on the lawns and it is also a favourite spot for post ceremony drinks reception. Garden games scattered across the grass, acoustic live music playing… dreamy!

The Barn

Our Grade II listed, 16th Century, Tithe Barn is where our couples enjoy their wedding breakfast and evening reception. It is also the perfect wet weather option for your ceremony, should the weather not be on your side!
